San Jose Food Works Implementation Kick-Off

The City of San Jose is hosting this event on May 12 at City Hall. SPUR San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority are co-sponsors.

San Jose’s diverse food industry contributes $2.9 billion annually to the City’s economy while helping shape the City’s identity and vitality. Yet many food businesses face challenges:  distributors and processors are squeezed for space and new businesses need more incubation opportunities. What additional policies and investments are needed to help food sector businesses start, stay and grow in San Jose and continue to make critical contributions? What more needs to be done to build a healthy food system that serves all San Jose communities?  The San Jose Food Works Implementation Project, just getting underway, is tackling these kinds of questions. Join us for a discussion and lunch.
