Partner: Santa Clara County Open Space Authority
Date of project: 2012-2013
The Greenprint, developed by the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority, is a long-term Conservation Vision for Santa Clara County that identifies critical areas for land conservation and comprehensive strategies to protect natural habitat, conserve water resources, sustain agricultural lands and ensure livable communities. The acronym is CVW3, which stands for Conservation Vision for Watersheds, Working Lands and Wildlife.
As the agricultural consultant, SAGE researched and drafted the agriculture and food systems chapter for the Greenprint. Tasks included synthesizing existing plans and reports; identifying key issues, trends, opportunities, and strategies; and facilitating public input.
The Conservation Vision is long-range—approximately 30-years—and high level, in order to inspire positive change and provide a framework to guide the Authority’s future actions county-wide.
